The main factor is your property: a larger home will require more propane to heat efficiently. But that’s not the only factor to consider. Insulation plays a crucial role. A well-insulated home retains heat more efficiently, reducing the amount of propane needed. Window tightness is also important. Poorly insulated windows can let a significant amount of heat escape, increasing your propane consumption. In the case of an older property, we recommend that you contact a specialist to check the condition of your insulation. Chances are you’re losing heat.<\/p>

2. The number of occupants and your habits\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>

The number of people living in your home affects consumption. The more people, the higher the demand for hot water and heating. Your lifestyle habits, such as the temperature at which you set your thermostat and the frequency with which you use propane-powered appliances, also have a significant impact. A higher indoor temperature in winter means more heating and, consequently, higher propane consumption. If you notice high consumption from your hot water tank, consider a tankless water heater. This type of water heater is on-demand only, so you’ll be able to reduce your consumption considerably!<\/p>

Older or poorly maintained appliances can be less efficient, which means they consume more propane to provide the same amount of heat or energy.
